　　Ukiyo-e has been appreciated internationally since the Edo period.Not necessarily due to the interest in Japanese culture but it is the way that Japanese life style is portrayed in Ukiyo-e that is aesthetically popular universally.
　　From the latter part of Edo to the Meiji period,Ukiyo-e became popular among commoners and that popularity thrived with more colorful printings being produced than previously.However Ukiyo-e in those days was'nt well classified or promoted due to the immense nummber of works and styles.Now we would like to introduce Ukiyo-e to people all over the world.
　　We hope you can understand and appreciate the aestetic sense of Japanese poeple expressed through Ukiyo-e.
